We wanted to look at the children’s life, at the challenges they face, and see if they are getting everything that they need. The Managress of OSU, Mrs Sharon Abbey will tell us something more about the children’s home, how many children are living there and also how many caregivers are working in OSU. Janet Boahema who is in charge of school will tell us what the routine of the children is and what they usually do during the day. Hajia Zuweratu, Supervisor of Girl Unit, has been working in OSU for 15 years and will give us an insight into how the home has changed over the last 15 years. We will also find out what there are plans to make the babies unit better, how many new children they get per month and which countries donate the most to The OSU children’s home. Volunteer Katia from Finland will tell us the differences between children’s homes in Finland to those in Ghana. At the end of our program the main nurse of The OSU children’s home will speak about the most dangerous illnesses for children and how they are solving these issues. Under the Mango Tree? is the first program in Human Being Best series of programs presenting the real life stores or ordinary people leaving extraordinary lives. This program is recorded in Ghanaian capital Accra and is dedicated to an extraordinary man, Mr Mamud Billa. This is a moving story of one Ghanaian man, who comes from tremendously poor background, but manages to get a good education. He then devotes his life to help underprivileged children. Mr Billa had no money to start a school for underprivileged children, but this did not stop him. He had a dream, and he followed his dream. He knew he wanted to teach children, he knew education is a key to better life, so he took the first step, and began his first school under the mango tree. Program will motivate you and inspire you to take steps towards your own goals and your own dreams. There are life coaching moments thought the program that will help you to take your first step, just like Mr Billa did.
